Hey Reader!
Welcome to the second edition of Mapphouse Press. I’m very glad I called the last one a soft launch.
If motherhood and ceramics have taught me anything, it’s grace — grace with myself when things don’t go as planned, grace for timelines that shift, and grace to show up a little messy, because showing up, even imperfectly, still matters.
And so, here we are, officially launching this business into the world.
This moment feels both surreal and deeply right: the merging of so many years spent teaching, creating, and building something that feels true to my core. Mapphouse has been a quiet project behind the scenes, a place where education meets design and where purpose-driven entrepreneurs can turn what they know into something lasting — courses, experiences, and learning ecosystems that teach, serve, and inspire.

In this issue, you’ll find an introduction to The Signature Course Blueprint — my custom framework for online course creation — a peek at The Blueprint Workbook, and a few creative things I’ve been loving lately that keep me grounded and inspired.
Thank you for being here at the beginning, for your encouragement, curiosity, and belief in what Mapphouse can become. I can’t wait to share what’s next.
With grace and grit,
P.S. Thanks for hanging with me as Mapphouse continues to grow and evolve. I hope these letters leave you with something helpful — or at least a few laughs from the chaos of balancing business-building and toddler-wrangling.
P.P.S Would you do me a favor? Go check out my website! I have put A TON of heart and soul into it and love you to cruise around checking it out.

This month, I’m finally sharing something that’s been quietly taking shape behind the scenes — the framework that ties together all of my work in education, leadership, design, and business ownership.
It’s called The Signature Course Blueprint, and it’s built on the same foundation that has guided my entire career: helping people learn deeply, teach clearly, and design with intention.
At its core, this Blueprint brings together three elements that every great learning experience needs:
Teacher. Content. Systems.
When these overlap, they create the why behind what you teach — the purpose, clarity, and structure that turn knowledge into transformation.
The Blueprint helps you:
- Clarify your purpose (the why) behind your course.
- Structure your lessons and outcomes with intention (the what).
- Choose the tools and design that make learning seamless (the how).
It’s the method I’ve used across every Mapphouse project — the bridge between education and design — and now, I’m making it available for you to explore, too.

The Blueprint Workbook walks you through the full process step by step, helping you turn your ideas into a course that’s intentional, teachable, and beautifully designed. Inside, you’ll find guided prompts, frameworks, and reflection spaces to help you clarify your why, organize your what, and plan your how — all in one place.
It’s part strategy, part creative clarity — and it’s where every Mapphouse course begins.

What I’m Reading
I’ve been deep in Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner — slow, deliberate prose that feels like it was meant to be read in October. It’s a story about art, landscape, and legacy, which feels fitting as I navigate this new season of building something of my own.
What I’m Cooking
This Butternut Squash Orzo Salad from Half Baked Harvest has been on repeat. Warm, cozy, and just the right balance of sweet and savory — the kind of meal that feels like autumn in a bowl.
What’s Inspiring Me
Range Revolution — a woman-led brand working at the intersection of design, sustainability, and regenerative agriculture. Their work hits close to home, blending my background in resource conservation with my admiration for those who know what it takes to bring a product to market with purpose and integrity.
Disclaimer: This letter was “written” by Jolene — Kim’s 18 (almost 19) month old — and typed up by her mom. Hopefully it’s a breath of fresh air in the middle of the chaos, and a gentle reminder that we’re all just doing our best on any given day.
Hi everyone, Jolene here — official toddler-in-chief and part-time office assistant. Mom’s been working really hard to get all this “business gobbly-gook” up on the computer, so I thought I’d help.
My current strategy includes not taking naps (so I can be there to “supervise”) and strategically scattering toys across the workspace for creative inspiration.
Please see the attached photo of me “helping” Mom get Mapphouse up and running. I’m a big help!
Okay, that’s all for now — I hear the puppies and I think they might need me for an important meeting.

Can’t wait to tell you all about my next big adventure soon!
Love, Jolene
